Traditional Tres Leches Cake
This traditional tres leches cake is incredibly moist and soaked in a sweet three-milk mixture, then topped with whipped cream and fresh berries.

Ingredients
- ✓1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- ✓1 tbsp baking powder
- ✓1/4 tsp salt
- ✓5 large eggs, separated
- ✓1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- ✓1/3 cup milk
- ✓1 tsp vanilla extract
- ✓1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- ✓1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- ✓1 cup heavy cream
- ✓For topping: 2 cups heavy cream, whipped with 3 tbsp sugar
- ✓Fresh berries for garnish

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, beat egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar until pale yellow. Stir in milk and vanilla.

Fold flour mixture into egg yolk mixture until just combined.

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining 1/4 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold egg whites into batter until no white streaks remain.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

While cake is still warm, pierce the surface all over with a fork.

In a large measuring cup, whisk together condensed milk, evaporated milk, and 1 cup heavy cream. Pour slowly over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
